Talks and Classes
Aberystwyth Printmakers hold regular monthly talks that are given by members and also by visiting artists and artists in residence working at Stiwdio Maelor in Corris. These monthly events provide opportunity for artists to present their work, to introduce techniques, discuss ideas and receive feedback and constructive criticism. Some talks have helped launch subsequent projects such as The Maps and Mapping Project - exhibition due to open in Aberystwyth during October 2015. The Mythscapes from a Watery Realm exchange exhibitions with Brisbane developed from Judy and Mark Macklin's collaborations between art and science - mapping rivers and irrigation through linocut. Other talks have included reports on the Tamarind Institute, Printmaking in China, Ceramics and Printmaking and the development of film and animation from prints and printmaking.
Since the workshop moved to the Gas Gallery and to its current location at Old College - there has been a regular programme of classes and workshops in stone and plate lithography, etching, relief printing and collagraph printing.
